Well, not a good day for PC's in this flat. Ali's refuses to boot - but has no PC speaker to give a clue as to why.. I decide to take mine out and lend it to him. During this process my PC goes nuts - one of my hard disks breaks (may be fixable..), and Windows decides it needs a reinstall. Lovely.

At the end of this install process, I hear a loud bang. I look to my PC for smoke or fire, but there is nothing... strange. The PC carries on finishing up, and I start to investigate. Nothing on the motherboard looks like its exploded, and theres still no smoke or fire - not even a smell!

Anyway, I press the DVD drive button and it opens. At least it gets to 1/8 of the way open before something inside it jams it, and it goes back in. I grab my trusty multitool to investigate further.

I ended up having to open the drive, to find this inside.



Nice, huh? My XP disk decided to explode inside the drive... which killed the drive as well as obviously, the CD! Could this be a new feature of Windows Genuine Advantage? :P

Ah well, it was about time I did something about this shitbox PC anyway... now I have a reason.

It also seems I have a cold. Balls.
